Healthcare Reimagined:
A Bold Goal of the California Master Plan for Aging

Thursday, July 1, 2021, 10–11 am

Healthcare Reimagined: All older adults and people with disabilities will have access to the care and services we need to optimize our health and quality of life and to continue to live where we choose. One area needed to accomplish this goal is implementing a system of geriatric care or medical care for older adults that utilizes a holistic and equity-based approach, examining psychological and social determinants of health relevant to aging. By attending, participants will:
  • Learn about the current and future design and implementation of
geriatric care
  • Hear about the development of a Geriatric Emergency Department.
  • Get an update on local innovations in whole person care for older adults.
Featured Presenters:
  • Wynnelena Canio, MD, Chief of Geriatric Medicine and Continuing Care, Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa; Member, Governor's Alzheimer's Task Force
  • Jennifer Winters, Project Lead, Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation, Queen of the Valley Hospital
