"Our challenge is to make old age not only acceptable but inviting. ...We can craft an old age that will be intellectually stimulating, socially rewarding, productive and fun. The greatest gift we could give to future generations is to say, 'Here's a way to be old that you'll want to be.' " Laura Carstensen, PhD, A Long Bright Future
Sausalito Village is a non-profit organization founded by a small group of volunteers who wanted to build a community of friendship and support among Sausalito's older residents. We are dedicated to enhancing the ability of our members to live independently and active in our community as we age. We offer a wide variety of supportive services and volunteer opportunities, as well as educational, cultural, fitness, and social activities, all of which help our members to live safe, active, and connected lives. The basic concept of Sausalito Village is neighbors helping neighbors, we encourage all of our members to consider ways that they can be of service to other members or the organization as a whole. It may be as simple as a phone call to welcome a new member, a ride to a medical appointment or help setting up an event. For details on how to become a member or a volunteer, or if you would simply like to learn more about us, give us a call at 415-332-3325 or contact us by email at [email protected]. You are also welcome to attend one or more of our meetings or events, most of which are open to the public. For a complete calendar of events, click on the Event Calendar to the right. |

Sausalito Village hosts Intergenerational 94965 Art Show
At Sausalito Center for the Arts
Join us for the Annual Artist Reception
When: Sunday, November 17th, 3pm-5pm
Where: Sausalito Center for the Arts, 750 Bridgeway

The first annual Intergenerational Art Show features a diverse collection of artwork by over 60 artists, showcasing the talent of those aged 60 and older alongside creations from 25 students at Marin City's MLK School. All adult-created artwork is available for purchase, offering a chance to support local talent. This event invites the community to explore creativity across ages.
The Art Show runs November 14th - November 24th (Wed-Sun, 11-5)
The idea is simple - enjoy a meal while sitting in community with old friends or new. We have volunteer servers who will get you seated and deliver the soup, bread, dessert and hot drinks to your table.
We invite you to join us the first Monday of every month unless it falls on a holiday, then it moves to the following Monday. Time is 11:30am-1:00pm. Open to all seniors in 94965 but reservations are required. Go to the monthly SV calendar of events to reserve your spot.
Each month we invite a different business in town to create a hearty soup for attendees, usually there is a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian option. We also have live light music in the background lending a warm and inviting atmosphere to our monthly event.
Special thanks to Fr. Chip Larrimore and all of Christ Church for the use of Campbell Hall.
Limited parking is available. If you would like a FREE ride from Dunphy Park or your home, call Wendy at CARSS (Call A Ride for Sausalito Seniors) at 415-944-5474 or email [email protected] by the Friday before.
