Adichie, who grew up in Nigeria and now divides her time between the United States and Nigeria, is a writer whose work has been translated into over thirty languages. One of her novels, Americanah, published in 2013, won the National Book Critics Circle Award and was named one of the New York Times Top Ten Books of the Year.
In this 2009 Ted Talk, Adichie shows us that our lives and our cultures are composed of many overlapping stories and warns that if we hear only a single story about another person or country, we risk a critical misunderstanding.
