Show your support for Age Friendly Sausalito!
There have been changes made to the Sausalito General Plan update that include elements supporting Age Friendly Sausalito (as well as other new programs and new policies) that will be voted upon on Tuesday, September 1st, at the City Council meeting.

Sausalito Village worked together with the community to create Age Friendly Sausalito and were the first city in Marin and third in California to receive the World Health Organization designation in 2014.  What does it mean?  That moving forward, our City will always make decisions looking through an 'age friendly' lens.  Changes have been made to the General Plan update to reflect this language.  Through Age Friendly Sausalito, the CARSS (Call A Ride for Sausalito Seniors) and Age Friendly Permit programs have been created as well as the Age Friendly equipment in MLK park and more to come!

At its September 1st meeting, the City Council will consider new policies and programs that have been developed for the General Plan Update since publication of the Public Review Draft General Plan on April 6th, 2020. A detailed agenda is available on the City Council’s Meetings and Agendas page. The General Plan website (www.sausalitogeneralplan.org) has been updated to include links to the restructured Sustainability Element and the Comment Letters that were received on the Draft EIR during the Public Comment period.
