About Kanopy:

Kanopy is a streaming movie service that is now free for Sausalito residents through the Sausalito Library. It offers on-demand streaming of classic, independent, and foreign films, as well as extensive instructional video collections. It includes the Criterion Collection of classic U.S. and foreign films, including titles like 8 ½, The Last Metro, and Rashomon. You'll also find thousands of other recent independent and documentary films, such as East Side Sushi, 2 Days in Paris, and I am Not Your Negro. Kanopy is made possible through a grant from the Friends of the Sausalito Library.

Movies from Kanopy can be viewed on computers, mobile devices (via the Kanopy app for iOS and Android), and on televisions via Roku or Apple TV. To use Kanopy, you will need to create an account with an email address, then authenticate with your library card number and PIN.

Prior to the event, we recommend downloading the Kanopy app from your device’s app store or accessing it via the web. Here are the links:

Please have your Marin County library card (from any Marin library) and your library PIN on hand for the training. If you don’t currently have a card (and haven’t had one recently), you can sign up for a new card here. If you have an account or have had one within the past couple years, but don’t know your library card number, email Tula at [email protected] with your full name and current address. If you have a card but don’t remember your PIN, you can reset your PIN here.
